About AFF:

The Akron Independent Film Festival was founded by Rob Lucas in 2002. He ran the event at The University of Akron’s Gardner Student Center that year and the next. In 2006 and 2007, the UA student filmmaking organization “The 2380 Project” hosted the fest at the new Student Union Theater. In September 2007, a new team of five board members, drawn from “The 2380 Project” and the community, incorporated the festival and attained 501(c)3 nonprofit status. In July 2009, the organization's name was changed to simply “Akron Film” to accommodate our growing range of programs.

Hey whats going on? Hope you don't mind us whoring ourselves on your page, we're a new band from Akron trying to get the word out about our 1 year aniversary show, our biggest show yet, you should come out. Support local music. THANKS!

THE KENT STAGE PRESENTS ^♠^ GOD'S BLACK.45 ^♠^  HALLOWEEN PARTY 1 YEAR ANIVERSARY SHOW

We are a taking break from recording, for our aniversary which is featuring other great acts such as: Skel Riffton, Catera, Snuff Film, Not This Body, and Born Empty.

Tickets are $5.00 dollars, Get them now, we WILL sell out. Just hit us up on here, leave us a comment or a message.

Its all ages! they sell fairly cheap beer and wine there, but security's loose, and i'm sure their drinks aren't as cheap as stuffing a 5th of 110 vodka into your girlfiends purse, Just a heads up. I don't like our fans being discuraged to come see good music by bar prices.

Also for those of you who aren't familair with Halloween in Kent, it is the biggest Halloween festival in Ohio drawing anywhere from 10,000 to 25,000 costumed drunks ready to reak mayham downtown till the sun comes up. So the after party will be right there waiting.

The Kent Stage is located right in the heart of downtown Kent, you can't miss it.
also if you check out our music, keep in mind, the quality of our recordings is complete crap but the songs are amazing

    Hello AFFriends!

Thanks for a great film festival! I din't have to bum much money at all to get in. And thanks, Kendra, for the pencil, I filled out my survey with the honest-to-goodness truth of the matter.

I had one difficulty with the proceedings, and that was the total exclusion of my history in the origination of Superman. Brad Ricca knows what I'm talking about. There I was, finishing off my bottle of Thunderbird, really flyin', I mean really flyin' high, when I see some hoodlum stealin' a car stereo out of a '32 Ford. Now that ain't right. Especially since the Cleveland Police just got done throwin' my ragged ass in the slammer for 3 days for jaywalkin'.
So I swooped down into the situation, and there's these two guys off to the side, too chicken to do anything, by the name of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, sayin' "Is that a bird? Is that a plane?"

And I says, "No, I'm Baler, make that SuperBaler, and this punk ain't fencin' this car stereo!" And I took it, and wouldn't you know it, there's a Ten Teeth of Twenty CD in the stereo. So Siegel and Shuster shuffle off, draw a cartoon, make a million, and leave me penniless. Meanwhile, the only witness to support my side of the story is a punk with a crowbar and my bootprint on his butt.

Needless to say, I'm still livin' under the bridge.

There ain't no justice. But now the truth be told, it was I, I, Balertwine of lore, who was the one behind the creation of Superman, and may it be so recorded for all posterity. Thank you for allowin' me to clarify this.

    Hello
We are One Eye View/Warped Vision Studios.

We are seeking Indy film makers to participate in "Listen" An Earth day film project.

Be part of the first Twitter Community Film project where you can create a portion of a scene for our Earth Day Project.

We want people from around the world to be part of the celebration.

We will produce this film comprised of many individually created video clips sent in by you.

Your film clip can only be 30 seconds of original footage. Rendered in mp2 or mp4, making sure it's only 25 MB maximum.

First 15 seconds, we need you to film a situation of commotion...for example...Parks, Parties, restaurants, crowds, traffic....
Second 15 seconds, have everyone show reaction to sudden total silence (loss of hearing).

This footage will be compiled into the Earth Day Film Project. The script is finished but requires your participation.

We will finish the project after all submissions have been reviewed. Submission deadline is April 15th.
    This project
is not for profit. Not only is this a way to have your original ideas seen, but to also celebrate our planet.
    Project will
be released onto Youtube April 22nd...Earth Day.
Please include the name of your film company and the names of
all the participants in your clip for ending credits.

    Submit to: Listen.EarthdayProject@gmail.com
