Jazz guitarist/composer Aksel Westlund switched from violin to guitar at 15, and has not looked back since. He has studied with Frode Kjekstad, who showed him novel new ways of rearranging the three chords he knew, as well as Jez Franks and Jiannis Pavlidis. He is currently finishing his 3rd year at Leeds College of Music, majoring in Jazz Performance.
Aksel can be found performing around Leeds with Sculpture Park, an exiting band formed in 2007 by Saxophonist Mark Cowley. He has also been known to play for drinks and tips at tiny cafes in Stavanger.
Aksel is a founding member of Big Filthy Jazz, a musicians collective dedicated to helping new bands playing original improvised music get together, develop their music and promote themselves.

yo thanks for adding us, hope you like our tunes..we got a video for our single Its Not My Fault. If you like the stuff we would ask you if you can afford it to buy one track. Its only £0.99 and a record label have offered us a deal if we sell 5000 copies of our single, so again if you can afford it and if you like the music then please support us struggling artists. If you can't afford it or you just don't want to part with your hard earned cash then please feel free to come and listen to our music anytime, you are always more than welcome
Hi Aksel, it's a pleasure to be friends; thanks for your invitation. Nice tunes and playing; wish you good luck and musical inspiration! Best regards, Ruud.
