.. AKshun was born in gritty streets of Alphabet City, in the lower east side of New York in 1988. Because of the price of living in new York city a young AK moved to Rochester New York (the murder capital for teenagers) for obvious reasons AKshun and his family soon moved out west to Seattle in hopes of a better life. Unaware of Seattle’s growing crime rate the family settled in the cities infamous Central District (AKA crime district). This demo lead him, a young 14-year-old AKshun (formally known as yung gun) to a local independent label CEO Fenni Casino. AKshun then dropped a mixtape with the League (a obsolete group of allstar entertainment) Allstar mixtape volume 1 blazed thru the streets in 2004. Unfortunately weeks before the release of volume 2. Disagreements between former members of the label caused it to never drop. " After that shit happened i got heavy in the streets, i was like fuck rap, at fifteen i was doing shit that your favorite rapper talks about but never did.” After some time spent in the juvenile, pending investigations, and a few near death experiences A to the K made some changes to turn his life around. Starting his own record label 'SO HOOD RECORDS' and signing a few artists, J-Hussle and Boss Vegas. Unfortunately both of Akshuns So Hood label mates are incarcerated. “I’m the last of a dying breed, the last of the real, all my fam is killing each other or getting locked up! That’s who I do this for!” Two years later AKshun and Fenni Casino have linked up once again forming the GMC (get money click consisting of 6 members) each member of GMC has released at least one solo project AKshun’s debut mixtape ‘Joog Muzik’ (northwest version of trap music) was released in April 07 and has already sold over 1500 copies independently. Collectively as a group GMC has moved thousands of units, we have opened for artist such as Kanye West and Yukmouth in popular clubs from the west coast to Alaska. AKshun’s second effort is underway as well as three other projects under the So Hood/GMC umbrella.
