Alan "Shredder" McCarroll - Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Vocals, and DrumsAlan's a fantastic all-around musician on a number of instruments. He's currently a member of four bands, including Steelhead, Resident, and others. He raises the energy level and blows the roof off once he starts cutting loose! A fellow original Big Lake resident, he joined Steelhead in the summer of 2008, and we're glad to have him with us!
Mike "Twanger" Collins - Guitar, Drums and VocalsMike is a skilled musician who's playing with a number of bands. He can play a number of instruments. He was recently the drummer for the band, Red Penguin, and also currently plays guitar in his father's band, Michael Ray & The 100 Proof Band. Mike is a great country player and singer, but definitely can show off his skills on the rock 'n roll music! He joined Steelhead in the summer of 2008, and has been a huge addition to the band! Barry "Twin Dragon" Billings - Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Keyboards and VocalsBarry sets back and pumps out the bass that really gets you “feeling” the music, and layers that with some great vocals. At times, he fills out the sound, from mellow to rockin’, on acoustic guitar or keys. A native Californian (not by choice), Barry played with a number of different bands as he moved up thru Oregon and Washington to Alaska some years back. He has performed with Steelhead since its inception and has penned several of the bands songs. Barry also runs his studio where “Which Way Now?” was recorded and mixed. Doug "Moose Magnet" Herschbach - Drums, Percussion, Bass Guitar and VocalsDoug was “raised on Rock and Roll”, so when he starts laying down a backbeat, you can’t help but want to get up and dance. A pro drummer since he was a kid, Doug is solid, tight and utterly in the groove. A long standing (well, he usually sits) member of the band, Doug also fills in on the bass on our acoustic numbers. As a lifetime Alaskan, we figure he has swatted more mosquitoes than the rest of us combined. | | Sounds Like | If you took Van Morrison, Tom Petty, Three Doors Down, Jerry Garcia, Robert Cray, JJ Cale, Jimi Hendrix, Elmore James, Eric Clapton, John Mayall, Alan Jackson, John Fogherty, Lyle Lovett, Jimmy Buffet, Neil Young & mixed 'em all up, you'd be getting close to Steelhead's sound, sort of. | | Record Label | Big Fungus Records | | Type of Label | Indie |

Take some blues roots, blend in a healthy dose of Alaskan country rock, and top it with three part harmonies and you’re probably talking about Steelhead. That “little ole’ band “ from Big Lake, Alaska has been performing in lodges, clubs, bars, villages, weddings, parties, breweries, music festivals and the Alaska State Fair since ’99, where they effectively blend the musical genres into a soundscape as diverse as the Great State itself.
Drawing upon influences such as Paul Butterfield, Van Morrison, Neil Young, Grateful Dead and Eric Clapton, band members Alan McCarroll, Mike Collins, Barry Billings, and Doug Herschbach offer up original songs and great, but sometimes obscure, covers with a distinctive sound unique to the band.
