Akuma first started creating beats over 15 years ago, inspired by hip hop, breaks, drum & bass and jungle. Performing both live and DJ'ing in North London clubs with the likes of Nicki Blackmarket and DJ Hype before finishing school, Akuma was soon making a name for himself alongside DJ Sharpz. With Ben & Max Ringham they formed Conspiracy, remixing Kitachi and Wide Receiver and both appearing on and helping to A&R the 21st Century Drum & Bass CD among other work. Moving to Brighton in 1999, Akuma DJ'ed extensively at clubs including Supercharged and Ocean Rooms (supporting Tim Westwood), ran the breakbeat/dubstep night Score at Escape (now Audio), and presented a weekly show on Rage FM. Now back in London he's continuing to produce tracks, as well as DJ'ing for What It Is and Dirte Records. He recently co-remixed a track by Chaz Jankel of the Blockheads. He's a regular contributor to the blogs Byron Crawford and Cash Rules.
