Akuma Roots was formed around the love of reggae music, and a desire to create music that is both danceable and socially conscious. With members hailing from Ghana, Jamaica and Syracuse, New York, the band works to incorporate many different influences into their evolving sound.
Akuma Roots has performed at venues and festivals throughout New York State. Recently Akuma Roots has performed alongside such artists as Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Sierra Leone’s Dry Yai and The Chicago Afrobeat Project.
