Dr. Alvin Atlas @ Riverview Animal Clinic. He's the best there is when it comes to herps (and small mammals). You may even say he's a Reptile Guru...
Dr. Chris Campbell @ Riverview Animal Clinic. Dr. C. is fairly new to the herp vet business but I trust him with my kids! He does a great job!

About me:
Our mission statement:Central Alabama Reptile Rescue is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the rescue of the sick, injured, abused and unwanted reptiles in the Central Alabama area. It is our goal to not only rescue reptiles but also to educate the community and individuals about all reptiles and their proper care.
..
Alabama Reptile Rescue is an independant, non-profit organization that handles all types of reptile rescues. We are located in Birmingham Alabama and rescue reptiles simply because we love and respect them. We are one of the few reptile rescues that will handle venemous snakes (capture and release only). For the most part, snakes are misunderstood, and too many of them are killed just because they get into a backyard and take people by surprise! I cannot count the number of times I have heard someone say "Well, it got in the yard so I killed it with my garden hoe." Stop and think...Snakes are so valuable in the food chain--they eat all the rodents that we consider a nuisance! Well, off my soapbox for now... We will take in and rehabilitate sick and or mistreated reptiles. Some of their stories would make you cry...Kirra the Albino Burmese Python, a Hurricane Katrina survivor who was lucky enough to be housed at a local veterinarian's clinic to recover from living in the post hurricane mess ; Lance and Gwen the Bearded Dragons, surrendered to us due to the previous owner's lack of time and experience; Monty the Savannah Monitor, housed in a 15 gallon aquarium and never handled-suffering with urine scald on his belly and feet because the previous owner NEVER changed his substrate...People purchase reptiles because they "look cool". Yeah, Gwen looks real cool now with her broken jaw from not having ANY calcium in her diet. Many of the herps that come to us are not adoptable due to chronic health problems or behavioral issues from being mistreated by their previous owners. All I am asking is that if you think you want a reptile as a part of your family, research and research some more. I'm not telling anyone to never own a herp--they can and DO make awesome additions to your family--but just keep in mind that you aren't buying a dog--reptiles are so much more work--they require special heating and lighting setups, live food and sometimes frequent vet visits...Think about it...I would love to hear about any herps that MySpace members have! If you have a herp related question, please ask! I am by no means an expert (or a veterinarian) but I will be very happy to help in any way I can. If you're into herps, send a friend request or a message! Tara
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who has a genuine interest in any herps, anyone who has a herp that needs to be rescued, herpetologists and herp veterinarians.
I made those things out of styrofoam covered with a thick layer of tile grout...painted with non toxic paint, caovered with non toxic sealer and sprinkled with a little sand for traction...I was going to make some and bring them to you when I picked up the babies but I didn't have enough time...it takes a few days from start to finish...I'm sure one of these days we'll find another reason to meet again :) then I'll bring you some!! xox Carrie
Thanks. The only thing sad about wesltley is he a vicious killer of birds and squirrels. And that he was left behind and abandoned when a neighbor moved and we took him in. I love him~~~tammy
