BETTER THEN - free download The inspiration behind this song, I don’t even think it’s an inspiration but a sadness behind it, is the loss of my brother, Andile James Makiwne, who died in a car accident in April 2006. For a while after that, everything went blank for me, I couldn’t write music, I had no inspiration whatsoever and saw how hard it was for my mother to take the loss, and knowing that the relationship that I had with him will be no more. I know that there are people who lost someone they loved through street crime, accidents, wars, and death as a whole that will relate to what I felt when I lost my brother.
