The following "about me" blurb has been modified from it's original version. It has been formatted to fit the context of my life in the most updated way possible for someone so lazy they can't rewrite an entire blurb that was written four years ago. The original paragraphs were taken from my first myspace profile which I deleted because I was experiencing unusual issues with repeatedly being hacked (I suspect it was an ex) and I'm STILL trying to fully recover my friends list...
I was born on a full moon and raised in Woodstock, NY. My last city of long-term residence was Seattle ((don't ask me why I left unless you're willing to hear some heavy shit)) but in the last few years I've lived quite the gypsy lifestyle ~ If I'm not on tour, I'm moving about from place to place for one reason or another (whether I like it or not). Next stop: Brooklyn?
I am a professional bass player, a jeweler and an artist. In my high school senior year I was voted most individualistic, funkiest dresser and most bizarre. I am sort of a philosophical person, I spend a great deal of time observing and absorbing. Human behavior is very interesting to me. I believe in certain levels of psychic ability, as I have experienced it first-hand too many times to ignore. I consider myself a spiritual person but I am NOT one of those new-age types who live by what their perception of spirituality "should" be. I don't practice an organized religion or anything, although I find that many aspects of Buddhism hit pretty close to home. I just try to stay grounded and filter out all the tons and tons of bullshit there is. I love reality and refuse to do anything to jeopardize my perception of it.
I try to be a conscious person, I was vegetarian since I was 13 and vegan for years but now I eat organic eggs, organic goat cheese and occasionally free-range organic [antibiotic-free, hormone-free, grass-fed] meat (avoiding red meat) for health reasons. I find it's easier just to tell people that I'm vegetarian to avoid having to explain all the conditions under which I'll actually eat those things, although it's really closer to the terms of a macrobiotic diet.
I am an animal rights activist and I have a very strong opposition towards genetic engineering. It's a way that the corporations can "own" the genes for an organism (veggies, animals, doesn't matter) in an attempt to completely monopolize the food supply. It has absolutely no positive impact on anything, despite the fact that they continue to lie through their teeth about it. I am strict about eating only organic foods for that reason. And besides the incredibly corrupt political and economic aspects of it, I just think there is something inherently wrong about splicing fish genes with a tomato plant! check out www.organicconsumers.org - they're very informative!
Aside from my overwhelmingly activist nature, I fancy myself as a lover of the finer things in life - the arts in particular. I think it pretty much boils down to the fact that I like to use any form of non-verbal expression to convey the innermost workings of my soul because I've never been much of a talker. I'm too frequently mis-understood I think. My creative expression comes mostly in (but not limited to) the forms of: dancing, drawing, painting, weaving, crocheting, making things (pottery, jewelry, things functional and/or aesthetic, love, music), designing, acting, writing, singing, playing bass, drumming ... you get the picture.
