Aloha! My name is Alana Cini and I have been playing the didgeridoo, also known as didjeridu, or traditional name, Yirdaki, for ten years now.
On my journey into the deep pacific I spent several years in Australia traveling by mountain bike over 8,900 miles throughout the north, south and central parts of Australia. Settling in Kuranda, North Queensland, I was introduced to the local aboriginal culture and the sound of the didgeridoo. Inspired by my association with the aborigine people and their multidimenstional relationship to the didgeridoo, I fell in love with its vibrational, haromic and musical qualities.
Seven years after leaving Australia I eventually made my way to Seattle, where I was reintroduced to and given an instrument by a very good friend from Kuranda. One of my teachers, David Hudson, is a world renowned didge player who resides in Cairns. David comes from the Ewamin (oo-rah-min)/Western Yalangi (people of the north east coast of Australia). His life and his love and belief in Aboriginal culture has inspired me.
Some of the folks I have had the honor to perform with are: Stephen Kent, Alan White from the band YES, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Mothers of Invention Band, Pat Simons, Artis the Spoonman, the Manao Radio Orchestra, as well as a variety of local and national events and recordings.
I have brought the didgeridoo into many different genres of music.. i.e. Trance, Rock, Blues, Classical, East Indian, a bit of Jazz, African, Latin, and traditional Hawiian music.
One of the very cool things I do here on Maui is Iam a radio DJ on a local, live, listener supported radio station here on Maui. My show is every Wednesday evening from 8PM to Midnight & Beyond. Most of the DJ's are local musicans from around Maui. Also on some Wednesday nights we have Club Manao Niteclub from 8PM to 10PM, featuring local and international bands live on the air. The Manao Radio Orchestra is a band consisting of volunteer musican/DJ's from Manao Radio. Check out www.manaoradio.com!
Alana Cini is on the air every Wednesday nite at Manao Radio, Maui, Hawaii "The AlanaMana Show" check me out.. www.manaoradio.com
Give Thanks! We had a great time and would love to come back out and perform again in Maui. We will hit you up when we come in the winter, maybe you can help us promote. Thanks so much for the love. BK
There is no end to the different ways that people look at life. People view existence in this world through very different sets of eyes. Even when people look at the same circumstances and situations, different people have totally different views. Let me use two examples as illustrations.
To some people, life stinks. No matter what the circumstances are or the situation is, they always see the stinky things. Trouble chases them like a vicious dog. Problems cling to them like ticks. Tragedy rains on them like hail stones. When something good happens, they cannot enjoy it. They spend their time wondering when the bad will come. If they win a million dollars, the taxes are horrible. When someone is kind to them, they wonder, "What is that person trying to do to me?" To them, life is horrible, so they look for the bad in every situation.
To some people, life is wonderful. Everything is wonderful! If trouble chases someone like an angry dog, that person irritated the dog. If problems cling to someone like ticks, that person walked among the ticks. If tragedy falls on someone like hail stones, that person chases tornadoes. Life is naturally good! Bad things do not happen unless you invite them into your life. They never look at life and see anything bad.
"Many people have traveled this world with different dreams, purposes and aspirations. Many are masters, teachers, inventors and followers. They were all sent by the creator of the universe to achieve one just course; “global peace and unification.” But this course cannot be achieved without unconditional love, which possesses the magical powers of the Divine for transformation. When the human race embraces love unconditional, then the lost will be found, the naked will be clothed, the hungry will be fed, the bombs will be destroyed and there will be peace and unity which will make us all to speak one language, “LOVE”. Let love abide" ~ Philip Brown

Aloha! Mahalo for the speedy "ADD"! Seeing you on my screen here in Panama City, Panama, made my heart sing. I spent 20 years in Aloha Land, and ask with intent daily to The Universe to provide the means for Rod Richards and me to return for a visit. Rod played at HIC with Rare Earth in the 70's. I have him hooked on Hawaiian music, and want to get him connected to musicians in Hawaii. Our new album, CHEMICAL INTERACTION, has just been released.
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.

SECRET VIBES new album FireFly.. Now available from Aboriginal Records.. "Firefly" hallmarks the cornerstone and encapsulates a decade's worth of musical ingenuity, talent, and experience. An accomplished colorful music mixing traditional instruments (flute, didgeridoo, jewharp, etc...), sensible, powerful voices, world and ethnic music touches (tribal, celtic, oriental, latino) with a typical electronic touch.
Just sending some positive vibes to you:) Much Mahalos for the add:) This song is for you and that special person in your life:) "Wonderful Tonight" Artist E,Clapton....Ukulele jam by me:) 2nd song on my profile. Enjoy and have a great day! Hawaiian Style Sonny www.mobettahsoundproductions.com 541-621-1225
