Born and raised on the north shore of Long Island in Stony Brook, New York, Alan has worked hundreds of jobs, thousands of stages, lived in small towns and big cities, toured and traveled, and released independent records (including Sons And Daughters, Ordinary Miracle, Bloomington Demo and Minutia Session).
In August 2003, Alan recorded a 4-song EP, Minutia Session, with Gary Paczosa (Nickel Creek, Alison Krauss, Dixie Chicks, Dolly Parton, John Prine). This followed up a 2002 EP done in Bloomington, Indiana with rock's hardest-hitting drummer, Kenny Aronoff (Bob Dylan, Elton John, Mick Jagger, Sheryl Crow, John Mellencamp, John Fogerty, Melissa Etheridge). Kenny said "I loved playing with Alan. He loves what he does and it was inspiring to be around him in the studio."

Thank you Alan. When you have time please stop by our arts in education "space" and share a comment/quote about music and learning.
Best, John
“If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music. ... I get most joy in life out of music.”
