"The songs on Oxygen are written with great attention to detail and are well orchestrated with violin and trumpet adding texture to duelling guitars and a subtle rhythm section. Boyle's voice is the standout element on the EP, and acts as a pivot around which all other facets move, and it truly is captivating"

Born under the weeping Irish stars, Alan Boyle wandered the earth aimlessly for years before falling asleep at the gates of Australia, where a family of possums took him in and dressed the wounds on his fingertips.....
His first EP SHALLOW HEART was recorded in Dublin before moving to Brisbane in 2005. He has since appeared at the Woodford Folk Festival, QLD Multicultural Festival, Greenfest and Brisbane's 2009 Australia Day Celebrations, building a solid reputation as a powerful and original performer on the local and national emerging artist scene, more recently supporting Oz music legends Dragon and Wendy Matthews on their respective SE QLD tours this year.
With a 2009 QSong nomination for "This Town", one of the songs from his new OXYGEN EP, being selected as the recipient of the Billy Thorpe Scholarship Award and a new band THE BLEEDING HEARTS, Alan Boyle is fast-proving to be an artist to watch.
Hey Alan, hope you got back to Oz safely man, was nice catching up with you the on night, even if it was only for a couple of hours. Anyway, just had to swing by and say congrats to you on your RTE Radio debut. Ye played a blinder man. You were great at the old banter too so ye were, but the songs came across really well, very professional! Hope your success continues own under dude!
Right, well, hope to hear more great things from you soon mate.

Any time man! It was a pleasure to hear you. Actually I really liked 'This Town' that's a great song... I hate to say it because Emmy did a beautiful job with the violin, but I really, REALLY liked the guitar doing that part on stage, it sounded swish as.
Alright man. I have neglected you for long enough, it's time I come and see you play some more. Only problem is, your event invite says 25th and your gig list says there 24, so pick one buddy, and I will be there.
Will probably bring a small blonde thing with me too :)
Hope you're well buddy. I'm off to pretend to read a text book in case anyone peers through my window; give off that air of pseudo intellectualism, which is an air I adore in swathes.
