About Alan Brown The Great Leap Forward

NEW CD OUT NOW: "FINISHED UNFINISHED BUSINESS"

website: www.thegreatleapforward.net

Alan Brown (former member of John Peel favourites Big Flame, A Witness, amongst others) returns to his The Great Leap Forward musical project with a new CD and download release Finished Unfinished Business.

The title of the CD tells the story of the release – all eleven songs featured were at incomplete “work in progress ” stage when Alan put The Great Leap Forward on hold in the early 1990’s to pursue other interests.

Now, returning to update and complete those songs, Finished Unfinished Business features Alan delivering trademark melodic and danceable guitar-driven tunes with those familiar social commentaries and politically overt lyrics – the quintessential mix that received such critical acclaim the first time around.

Regardless of whether you’re already familiar with The Great Leap Forward, or you’re discovering the band for the first time, Finished Unfinished Business sees the return of a distinctive appraisal of modern society through the medium of pop music that’s as relevant for today’s pop kids (and their parents) as it ever was.

You can listen to more excerpts from the CD here and buy the CD and/or MP3 downloads here.

Enjoy.

Alan Brown: an atheist who's fond of hymn tunes.

AMENDED TIME!!!
Finally, after literally days of in depth study, repeatedly declined applications of funding and too much coffee, Carlos is ready to present two half hour programmes looking at the strange and flawed life of the Mutant Monkey that is Man. Starting right at the beginning of life on earth with some ambitious slime, this study follows our species through its evolution from being the master of all it surveys, to todays cabbage that has found a myriad ways of shooting itself in the foot. Also, you can expect to hear a few daft tunes to lighten up your day. ‘I always hoped that my theories would be an inspiration to others, but on hearing this show, I think I may have created a monster’- Charles Darwin. Part 1 Tuesday 17th March 11pm, part 2 Tuesday 24th March 11pm. On air in central London at 104.4fm, online worldwide at www. resonancefm. com

Does this mean that there will be new GLF product for the 21st Century???

I used to be on your mailing list for Communique back in about 1990..loved the stuff then - still love it now! Forever gutted that your Derby gig got cancelled

Any chance of the early RJ stuff getting a new CD release?
