Sounds Like
I..ve got my obvious roots, but i..m always trying to experiment with sounds to create music with an edge or an original sound! I..m told i sound like the perfect mix of Motorhead and Hawkwind This is reflected in my solo albums! My band is called "GUNSLINGER" (we kick ass by the way!), and have been trading songs via tapes and cd..s under this name since 1979!! My synth music is my own style!! My other side!! cheers, AD(The Bass Monster),a.k.a. "The Bass Slayer!" (cheers Steve!!!)
Alan Davey was the bass player in Hawkwind (1984-1996 and 2000- 10th June 2007) and is now bassist and Vocalist for GUNSLINGER.Also bassing for The Hawklords (see Garage Band link below), Thunor and Pre-Med.
Alan is available for session work, mixing and producing, at Musicians Union rates. Send a message for availability. If I sound busy, I'll make time!

Because of the popularity of the Elf EP, many Hawkwind fans have asked if there is any more 4 track demos around from that time. After going thru my old tapes I've managed to get 4 volumes of about 70mins each in length! So yes there is some more and its good stuff! The 1st volume is from 1986-87 and includes original demos of Sword of the East, Chasing the Dragon and a version of the Pink Panther theme, Motorhead style!! This is a limited edition run of 500 per volume, with 4 volumes in all, so they will be collectable like the Elf EP is! Included in the 4 volumes are the original demos for "Sword of the East", "Wings", "Chasing the Dragon", "Back in the Box", "Blue Shift", "Wave upon Wave", "Xenomorph", "Sputnik Stan", and a Motorhead style version of the Pink Panther Theme!! There's approx. 60 tracks in all to collect !!

Angel Down is sublime. Best track of 2009 I reckon, that includes me. I hope to see you at Canning Town. Hopefully I'll have some dosh with me to buy Eclectic and Earthquake as they only give me a savings account and WTF is Paypal?
Not surprised, the young European fans enjoyed the Gunslinger sound. The old ENGLISH ONES ENJOY IT TO. Earthquake in E MInor is a great album. Cheltenham unfortunately does not have any good live music venues. There is the 2 pigs www.myspace.com/the2pigs
Most of the bigger bands tend to play at the Town Hall. There is the Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury which is a reasonable venue, The Malvern Theatres are good. The SUbscription Rooms, Stroud is a reasonable venue. The last time I think I saw you In Gloucestershire was at the late Axiom Club (1999) - a Bedouin concert.
I sometimes go to SOuthampton ( my original home town) - The Brook is a great venue.
Would love to see you in the Cheltenham area. The trouble with driving to gigs is having to restrain from indulging in alcoholic substances. I shall get to the Robin 2 in March next year.
I am really enjoying ECLECTIC DEVILS and am awaiting DJINN.....with great anticipation
Yeah Alan, would have loved to come over and see you play, I'm stuck over here in the USA. Maybe when you get over here we can hook up and do some shows together? Maybe around Ohio, let me know when you come back over.
