Alan Emslie is a professional musician born in Scotland, living in Germany and working mainly in the UK & Europe.
Alan's work is eclectic to say the least & includes Prog Rock, Metal, World Music, Industrial, Orchestral & Classical Music, Experimental & Improvised Music.
Alan is a classically trained timpanist & percussionist & a self taught drummer/vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist who as well as working with the likes of The Super Furry Animals & Billy Bates, runs & performs with the outstanding group DIMP - Dark Improvised Music Project (see top friends). He regularly performs with The Scottish Chamber Orchestra (Scotland), De Nederlandse Bachvereniging (The Netherlands), Emmanuelle Haïm's baroque music ensemble le Concert d’Astrée (France) and Harmonieband (London) with which he is currently recording a major BBC Television series entitled "The Birth of British Music" with the conductor Charles Hazlewood. Alan is also a published composer & a lover of wine!
