Hi, my name is Alan Alford. I am a writer/lecturer on the subject of ancient mythology and the esoteric meaning of ancient and modern religions. I used to be a chartered accountant, but figured that prophets were more interesting than profits :-) Since the mid-1980s, I have been on a quest for the truth of human existence, seeking answers to the eternal questions of who we are and where we come from. Inspired, in the first instance, by the controversial theories of Erich von Daniken and Zecharia Sitchin, I have focused my research on the enigmatic ‘gods’ of ancient mythology, pursuing my quest with one single-minded objective – to decode the secrets of the gods and thereby understand who or what these gods actually were. Between 1996 and 2004, I laboured day and night to produce six books on this subject, and was fortunate to notch up one bestseller with my first book "Gods of the New Millennium". Although I'm best known for this book, it does contain serious flaws, and I'd much rather be known for my 2003 book "Pyramid of Secrets", which caught the attention of The Richard & Judy Show (remember the infamous episode when Richard wanted to know why does a shark have two willies?), and my 2004 magnum opus on ancient Egyptian religion "The Midnight Sun".

Zecharia Sitchin maybe thinks so. He's the world’s leading ancient astronaut theorist, and he's threatened me with a 50 million dollar lawsuit on the grounds that my ideas discredit his theories and destroy his reputation. Whatever happened to freedom of speech?
Since 2004, I've been busy lecturing to Egyptology societies and lobbying the Egyptian authorities to look anew at the Great Pyramid where I have suggested a number of new leads for secret chambers, including the intact burial chamber of the builder, king Khufu (aka Cheops). If I'm right, the greatest discovery in the history of archaeology may be just around the corner and Zahi Hawass will become the greatest explorer in the history of the pyramids. Watch this space!
