.............. The Swing Shift Orchestra has been the house band at Chicago's Hottest Jazz Club, The Green Mill Lounge, every Thursday for the past ten years. If you like it hot, there is no place more sizzling than The Green Mill on Thursday night as the Swing Shift Orchestra cooks it up fresh. The Swing Shift Orchestra specializes in unique, vintage arrangements from the 1930's and 1940's. Granted exclusive and unlimited access to the Balaban and Katz Theatre Orchestra Collection of 26,000 stock arrangements, Alan Gresik delivers fox trots, tangos, waltzes, ballads, and of course Swing with an authenticity and vibrancy which has not been heard since the golden age of American dance music. Reminiscent of a 1939 live big band remote, including commercials and vintage radio personalities, Alan Gresik's Swing Shift Orchestra will transform your event into a spectacular old time radio show. The Swing Shift Orchestra was featured in the MGM motion picture "Return to Me", starring David Ducoveny, Minnie Driver, and Bonnie Hunt, and performed in the 2003 Chicago Jazz Festival. The Swing Shift Orchestra is available in a variety of configurations depending on the desires of our clients. Whether you want solo piano, a jazz trio, or the big band sound of our 15-piece orchestra and radio show, The Swing Shift Orchestra is ready and willing to thrill and delight audiences of all ages.
