"Music is my life, therefore, I raid" : he works and records on a revolving basis with some of the best musicians in the Ohio and PA area. "I’m lucky. I’ve been playing with the same guys off and on for the last twenty years or so, and even some new people are being added for the next album. Long time players, trad rockabilly, psychobillies, folkies, and punkers- all good friends- all strange and creative in their own right: such as Memphis Mike ("The Legendary Tremblers"), David Loy ("The David Loy Band"), Paul Penfield, Gardner Sumner ("Out of L.A."), Frank "Silk" Smith ("Aretha Franklin, Curtis Mayfield"), Frank Parisi (Dion, The Platters), Max Bangwell ("Robert Junior Lockwood, Jerry Lee Lewis") On piano, at various times we have Don Heddesheimer ("The Outsiders", "Black Flag of Anarchy"), Bobbie Antes, Danny Dickerson ("Jimmy Ellis, Ed Bruce, Terry Gibbs"), and more recently, Erich Overholtz. "GHOST TRAIN"

It’s March of 2008, and Ohio Moon Records has just issued the new "GHOST TRAIN" album, 21 songs devoted to the pioneers of Rock and Roll, that handful of guys who actually started this music, but are no longer with us. This album is so unique and special, that Al is dropping his long time stage name. "ALAN LEATHERWOOD", and returning to the name that he started out with so long ago, a name that he hasn’t used professionally since 1965- his real name, "ALAN CASSARO".
All the old gang are back, and some new cats too. Most of all, we’re glad to say that MEMPHIS MIKE has not only recovered from his heart attack, but he’s playin’ better than ever. Check him out on "Baby Let’s Play House".
Of course, I’m still workin’ on my first attack, but as usual, Memphis Mike was one step a head of me.
