  • Bio

Singer/Songwriter, Alanna Vicente was born on a military base in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her parents met in the Navy and eventually settled in Southern California. Now, back and forth between New York and LA, you could say she thrives on contrast. Hard to pin her look down, she is a tall mix of Filipino and Caucasian. Her first instrument was the flute and then the trombone. She marched in parades with her high school band sporting a polyester Spartan uniform. (Little did she know that all those years in band would inspire her most recent single, "PARADE", featured in the film,.."I'm Not Like That No More" .. Available on iTunes.) .. Her taste in music leaned toward the alternative side as a teenager. The Cure, Radiohead, Elvis Costello, The Smiths, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Bjork were among her favorites. In her late teens, the jazz and bossa nova vibes of Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, & Astrud Gilberto inspired her to sing. And as she performed out with her first LA based band, Chocolate Seastorm, the trombone seemed appropriate to revive and has been quite the accessory for her since! .. In 2004, Brooklyn became her new stomping ground. "New York was appealing for the pure sake of change." She crossed paths with artist/producer Andrew Wyatt (..Miike Snow.. & Fires of Rome) and formed an electronic band called ..OKtoberlight... In 2007, they together wrote an 80's inspired song called “Pop Goes My Heart” for the film, .. Music and Lyrics... Hugh Grant sang it. .. Currently in Los Angeles, Alanna is working on a full length album with multiple producers, while studying acting and photography. "The art of storytelling has inspired me in every art form." Although her recent EP does not have trombone, she performs with it at her live shows and plays with the band .. GIRL PROBLEMS.. in NY and LA. "It's so fun to watch people's faces when I blow my horn...I have realized it's a must on the next release." Her self-titled EP is now available everywhere online, including iTunes and CD Baby!
