Sounds Like
I like to think we sound like ourselves but the music ranges from folk to rock to Celtic to grand orchestral, but always with a strong Hallowe'en sensibility. If it had been offered as an option, I'd have classified it simply as "Hallowe'en Music"! It's always a little spooky and it always references that grandest of all nights, Hallowe'en!
Alan Sanborn and The All Hallows Players have been performing live original musical shows each Hallowe'en since 1990! Very soon, this will become the temporary default site for their album, Hallowe'en Hysteria and Other All Hallows Frolics, which was released last Hallowe'en.
Alan Sanborn has been haunting The Sanborn House in Westwood each Hallowe'en since 1975 but in 1990, the haunting of the local trick-or-treaters became a musical venture and The All Hallows Players were born!
The shows range from single songs such as Hallowe'en Hysteria and The Ballad of Jack of the Lantern to mini-musicals running anywhere from 20 to 50 minutes such as A Hallowe'en Carol, A Murder on Monster Street, and The (Unauthorized) Legend of Sleepy Hollow!
Seven of the single songs and one mini-musical have been compiled on the album, Hallowe'en Hysteria and Other All Hallows Frolics, along with a few bonus tracks!
Very soon you'll be able to buy this album from the site but, for now, if you're interested, just send us a message and we'll make the transaction!
Here are some photos taken by Bruce Heinsius of our most recent show, The (Unauthorized) Legend of Sleepy Hollow from 2006. We'll being adding more photos and videos from this and other shows soon!
