guitar and lead vocals, known as “The Federals”.
- Backed Roy Orbison on his first UK tour
- Temporary member of Billy Fury’s “The Gamblers” and wrote the lyrics
For the film “I’ve Got A Horse”, appearing in one scene
- After “The Gamblers” joined “The Urchins”, the 2nd group to back Adam Faith
Recording 3 singles with him
He then Backed Dusty Springfield Recording several of her hits with her both playing Bass and doing backing vocals
Asked to back Billy Fury again on his last tour befor he died as a member of “The Plainsmen”
He also backed Del Shannon on tour
Also sung with The Mob Squad, The Talismen, Vic and the Spidermen and Rio Grande
He was then asked to recordunder the name Bobby Rio for Stateside Records; then changed name to Bobby D’Ell to avoid confusion with another artist using the same name despite being the first one to use the name.
Toured USA, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Japan and many other countries as a solo artist.
He was the opening act for Craig Douglas and the Vernon Girls in Sept. 2006
He is now the lead vocalist for “The Applejacks”
He also presents a 60’s show for Radio Warrington every Weds. Evening
