Alarum
are currently working on their 3rd album, ‘Natural Causes’- set for release
in 2009.
The writing for the album is nearing completion; and the band are currently
finalising the last few songs and working on pre-production before hitting
the studio….
Their technical/progressive jazz/fusion influenced style of thrash/death
metal has continued to evolve over the years and has seen the band perform
shows around the globe with artists such as Necrophagist, Testament,
Obituary, Dark Tranquillity, Lamb Of God, Cattle Decapitation, Arsis,
Neuraxis, Gojira, Gorerotted, Aghora, Anata, Psycroptic, Alchemist, Mortal
Sin, Into The Moat, Odious Mortem, Tangaroa, Job For A Cowboy & many more.
Alarum
have played Australian festivals Overcranked & Metal For The Brain on many
occasions and Alarum were awarded Best Australian Band, Best Australian
Album, Best Australian Bassist and Best Australian Drummer at the 2005
Kerrang Australian Heavy Metal Awards.
In 2006 Alarum
toured the USA
supporting Necrophagist on the ‘Carving North America’s Epitaph 2006’ tour;
also performing at The New England Hardcore & Metal Festival, California
Metalfest & Maryland Deathfest. A
highlight of this tour was when Kelly Shaefer of Atheist joined Alarum onstage in Florida
to perform the classic Atheist track ‘Piece Of Time’.
