I grew up most of my life in Two Rivers, Wisconsin which is near Manitowoc and Milwaukee. I still love the Green Bay Packers! My nick used to be "troutman" because of my love of trout fishing. I sure miss my cheese curds and beer brats! Now that I've moved out to California, I head up to the Eastern Sierra several times each year with my family and friends. My favorites? Lundy Lake, June Lake, and of course Mammoth Lakes. We sponsor an Alpers trout tournament up there called TroutStock. Living in So Cal also allowed me the opportunity to fish the local islands, Mexico and many of the Southern California lakes.

I love fishing the California coast, bow hunting, surf fishing, collecting Kodak brownie cameras, tasting premium wine. I’m somewhat of a computer geek since I was programming pretty early on in life. I remember "hand punching" my first punch card back at Banning High School in 1977. It was just a small batch run that we sent over to Texas somewhere and got the results back the following day. That was way before Microsoft Windows!

We are currently raising a guide dog puppy for Guide Dogs of America. His name is Kuma. Saturday morning I got up early, dressed quietly, made my lunch, grabbed the dog, slipped quietly into the garage to hook the boat up to the truck, and proceeded to back out into a torrential down pour. The wind was blowing 50 mph. I pulled back into the garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad throughout the day.
I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed. There I cuddled up to my wife's back, now with a different anticipation, and whispered, 'The weather out there is terrible.'
My loving wife of 20 yrs replied, 'Can you believe my stupid husband is out fishing in that crap?'
I still don't know to this day if she was joking, but I have stopped fishing.
