Album after album, through an ever increasing number of line-ups and experiences, Alban Darche has been building a highly original, free-spirited and coherent body of work. He's the ingenious leader of the AD3 trio (with bassist Frédéric Chiffoleau and drummer Emmanuel Birault) and of Gros Cube (formerly Le Cube), a 15-strong big band featuring the finest jazz talents in the country, with several albums to its name, one dating from 2007 and featuring vocalist Katerine. In addition to his personal projects, Alban Darche is also a member of Jean-Louis Pommier's Qüntêt and Fred Pallem's Sacre du Tympan, and has worked with, amongst others, Gabor Gado, Tim Berne, Marc Ducret, Julien Lourau, Kenny Wheeler, Driss El Maloumi, Baptiste Trotignon and André Minvielle. He's also one of the co-founders (with Sébastien Boisseau and Jean-Louis Pommier) of the dynamic Yolk label, which has allowed a whole generation of young musicians to flourish.
Disque après disque, multipliant les formats et les expériences, Alban Darche construit une oeuvre originale, cohérente et libre. Il est l’ingénieux compositeur et leader du trio AD3 (avec Frédéric Chiffoleau à la contrebasse et Emmanuel Birault à la batterie) et du Gros Cube.
Ce big band, composé de quinze instrumentistes parmi les plus talentueux de la scène jazz hexagonale, compte à son actif plusieurs albums dont un réalisé en 2007 avec le chanteur KATERINE.
Parallèlement à ces projets personnels, Alban Darche est membre du Qüntêt de Jean-Louis Pommier, du Sacre du Tympan de Fred Pallem et collabore avec Gabor Gado, Tim Berne, Driss El Maloumi, Baptiste Trotignon, André Minvielle… Il est également l’un des co-fondateurs (avec Sébastien Boisseau et Jean-Louis Pommier) du très actif collectif et label Yolk qui permet à toute une génération de musiciens de s’épanouir.
Alban collabore également avec le chorégraphe et danseur Nasser Martin-Gousset et avec le metteur en scène Sylvain Maurice.
