i love to listen to Albert when iam driving down the freeway. Does he have any dvd's out??? If anybody could help it would be really nice. I met his wife a few times at The Railhead in Vegas, very nice lady.
I met Albert in Nashville around 79 at the Exit Inn. He was sitting at the bar and I asked him if he would sign an old album of his. He was so kind and gladly signed it, and asked me if he could buy me a drink. I accepted the offer and had a jack & coke. We chatted for about thirty minutes. One of the greatest music related experiences in my life. One of the greatest blues guitarists of all time took the time to spend with me and even bought me a drink. Later that night he "burned" the blues. Jimi would have been humbled. Albert Collins is one of my all time heros. Rest in Peace Albert your friend always, tommie rose
Dear Albert and Gwen Collins;
It is with heartfelt sincerity and thankfulness that I am able to finally send this note of huge gratitude to you both. As young aspiring American Indian blues musicians, we caught up to Albert in '77-'78 in Frisco,...after the show we had lotsa questions for him and he graciously took us for a ride in his van, the one w/a portable t.v. on the dash,...we got a kick out of that,...the next day Albert called me up@home to pick up my singer who caught a ride w/him up to Sacramento,...that was so cool,...but it was Albert's huge sound, technique and humility that inspires me, to this day, to discover and create my own original style and fire,...thanx Albert,...miss ya lots,...may CREATOR/GREAT SPIRIT always bless and keep you both in the safety of HER/HIS LOVE,...Billy Joe Green
The ultimate compliment is when someone says your guitar player sounds a little like Albert Collins. The only thing better would be someone saying you sound a LOT like Albert Collins. Thanks, AC

What a pleasure to be on the friends list of such a legend. I've recently purchased a copy of Gary Moore live in Montreaux 1990 on DVD on which Albert guests, to me this is the ultimate collaborative gesture...the hot student and the Iceman, essential viewing and many hours of pleasure to come watching it.
Any blues fans are welcome to add us as a friend for sure, 3 of the GW crew are currently working on a collaborative album with many songwriters and musicians from around the world on a collective effort known as GANG OF REBELS, which is in effect our tribute to our favourite blues legends, the album is going to be called "I've Got Blues For You"
