Albert's Biography
A Biography of Albert Lee
ca. 65 photos, appendices, notes, bibliography, index
hardcover (7 x 10) 2008
Available NOW!! Best known for his unique musical style and blindingly fast hybrid picking technique, English guitarist Albert Lee is often referred to within the music industry as the "guitar player's guitar player," renowned for his work across several genres of music and for the respect that he has garnered from other industry giants.
This comprehensive biography tells the entire story of Lee's long career and personal experiences, beginning with his upbringing in south London and his early experimentations with skiffle music (the British equivalent of American rockabilly). The story continues into the 1960s, through Lee's career in Chris Farlowe's Thunderbirds and the British rock and country group Heads, Hands & Feet before covering Lee's move to the United States in the 1970s and his subsequent work with Eric Clapton, the Crickets, Emmylou Harris and the Hot Band, the Everly Brothers, and, more recently, with Bill Wyman and with Hogan's Heroes. Throughout the work, the author sets Lee's career against the background of changes in popular music and assesses how Lee, as a British artist with nomadic Romany roots, has impacted traditionally "American" musical genres.
The work includes 66 photographs, many from Lee's personal collection, two appendices, and an extensive bibliography.

Albert, One of my favorite songs you play is by Hoyt Axton called "Evangelna". I love the guitar riffs on that song that you play. You give it the proper studio sound it deserves! Hope you are doing great, Much Respect, The Legendary Guitarist Hank Garland Family Hank Garland getting ready to record "Bye Bye Love' and many Everly Brothers tunes! Hank never practiced during a recording. He had already done that. He would get into that studio and do his magic! Just think what a song would be without Hank Garland's guitar riffs behind the artist!Brenda Lee told me after Hank was gone it took 5 guitar players and she told me they coul dnot come up with one lick like Hank Garland! Hank was a Genus but He worked very hard at what he did. Hank Garland was one the road at age 14 with Hank William's, Sr and Cowboy Copas & others. Hank always had a camera so we have allot of photo's from his journeys througout history. He also wrote journals every day who he was with and what they did. Also session log books from 1845 - 1961. This is a part of Music History that is so important. IT will never be repeated again. That Nashville Sound was the best. They were young and they were blessed with Talent, Amy Garland<a href="http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&f
