Albert Tenaya is a Native American Indian artist, dancer, musician, vocalist & songwriter. Albert is one of the few descendents of Yosemite Valley's Chief, "Chief Tenaya" of the Awahneechees Piute Ancestry.
Albert is the sixth generation Ancestry of Chief Tenaya. Alberts great great
grandmother "Maria Labrado", Indian name (Totoya) was captured along with
Chief Tenaya and seventy-two Indians, who were forced to leave Yosemite Valley, their homeland, at the insistence of major james savage, in March 1851, to the Fresno River Indian Reservation.
Albert Tenaya started his music recording company in Marin County, CA in 2005. He released his 1st C.D. of flute songs in November 2005 titled, "Medicine Water Flute Songs". In 2006 he completed his second C.D. titled, "Warrior Dancer". This C.D. took five years to complete... That is how "Medicine Water Flute Songs" came about and took over, out of frustration to complete the "Warrior Dancer" project. "Warrior Dancer", is a combination of stories his grandmother told him, and songs that he wrote concerning their lives and his own life. They have been selling in various locations throughout Northern California and the Marin Museum of the American Indian in Novato, CA. He has performed in the Southwest and the Northwest of the United States.
Albert Tenaya also won 1st place in the DirecTV Talent Search in 2000, giving him recognition as a talented musical artist, vocalist and performer. One of his goals is to perform in various Casinos around the country.
He is currently working on his next CD.
He is a very peaceful and loving man who wants to share with the world that Native Americans loved music too and treasured it. His songs speak from his heart and soul and can make a difference.
He writes his own songs, plays the flute and the guitar. He has been performing for many years and taking his songs and music to many places. TO PURCHASE HIS C.D'S OR FOR BOOKINGS, PLEASE REFER TO BLOG ABOVE. FOR ( N O N - MYSPACE USERS ) PLEASE REFERE TO OTHER RELATING BLOG...
