ALBINO! would like to thank all of you for helping make 2007 an incredible year for us! Our recent highlights were a sold out show at the Great American Music Hall with Karl Denson, an incredible Northwest tour all the way up to Vancouver, and most recently a wonderful weekend in Northern California! Stay tuned for new photos we will add to our gallery! We have much to come for the New Year - many new songs, a new CD on the horizon and an exciting tour schedule!
Rhino
New ALBINO! CD out on the loose!
ALBINO! is proud to announce the release of its first studio album, Rhino. As the title implies, Rhino captures ALBINO’s trademark “Heavy Heavy Afrobeat” grooves at their phattest. This disc levels dance floors like a steamroller and is guaranteed to have your tusks a-bobbin’. Rhino produced by Bruce Buchanan, ALBINO! co-founder and 15 year veteran of the Bay Area Afrobeat scene at Big Hut Productions in Berkeley, CA. The CD was mixed by Dan Prothero (Galactic, Stanton Moore, Robert Walter). Check out the Rhino samples in our on-site music player!
Winner of the SF Music Award for "Best World Music", ALBINO! has performed to capacity crowds up and down the West Coast and as far east as Chicago. ALBINO!’s brand of afrobeat reminds music lovers of what it feels like to groove, and without fail, inspires audiences to let go and absorb the ecstatic energy that pours from the stage whenever this funk-fueled juggernaut performs.
ALBINO! is more than a band, ALBINO! is a community. Wherever Albino goes, our sense of community and interconnectedness radiates throughout our audience. It may sound like a bunch of lightweight hippy shit but the equation is very simple, and it’s the truth. Love, respect and a common goal amongst all of Albino’s members creates an atmoshere of... well, love, respect and a common vision with our audiences. The feeling is contagious and this recipe has enabled ALBINO! to become one of the West Coast’s most sought after live music acts in only a year since its inception.
If you’ve ever seen us, feel free to leave a comment so we can hear from you!
Thanks for the add. I just wanted to say that your band saved my life last year at Burning Man. There I was..Critical Tits afterparty... Topless in a 60 mile an hour dust storm, natures exfoliation machine on full blast. My mojito filled with playa dust and I am about to die. The only thing keeping me sane? Your band playing through the entire storm. I thought, " Now that's a bunch of fucking PROFESSIONALS!" and then I thought, "I bet after all that playa dust, their gear was never the same". Then the triple rainbow came out. Thanks you guys!
