Alchobusker is brought to you by Rob Young, the letters w, t, f and the word earplugs.
Influences
I'm currently loving the music of......... Darren Hayman, Hefner, Laura Marling, Black Keys, Long Blondes, Jamie T, Leadbelly, Los Campesinos!, Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Simple Kid, Slow Club, Wave Pictures..............but don't sound much like them (probably much to their releif!)
Sounds Like
A tone-deaf, sausage-fingered, bug-eyed, dribbling drunk, beating seven shades out of the strings. Gotta love it.
Like a kid in sweet shop, but with half the attention span, Alchobusker has been hitting strings with little idea for a few years now.
Spurred into action after shouting at MTV and E4, proclaiming "I could do better than this dirge!", and then being challenged to either do it, or shut up (and either way, get out the front room now, you lazy oik).
Collecting up guitars, ukuleles, kazoos and all manner of noisy objects, he set to work. The tape was rolling, he hit the strings, opened his mouth and the most bowel-clenchingly awful noise came out. Sniffing with contempt at his lack ability, he mumbled "But I must be musical, I've got loads of records".
At the risk of over commenting (and appearing a pest!!) thanks for that site link..the song books are great and a quick read of blogs proved fruitful too..I shall return. Cheers Andrew
Thanks for that I will do..I'm new(ish) with the Uke I came at it via failed attempts at the Guitar and Tenor Banjo so Baritone Uke and Tenor at DGBE work for me as learning loads of different chords are beyond me!! I'm no muso sadly so unlikely to improve significantly but it's all fun, truth is i'm a music fan first. Enjoying your stuff too....hopefully you find a Kylie to your Nick at some point I would like to hear that!!
Thanks for the add..though I suspect it was one of those automatic ones now they changed the settings..anyhow if i haven't been deleted when you get when get chance it's good to catch up with your page.
Enjoying you doing your thing..which si pretty much how I take this on too.

Hello. Hope you don’t mind us posting this on your page. If you’re in the area, please print out the flyer and come down. It’s sure to be a wonderful night.
Crocs aren't so bad, its just that there's some sibling rivalry, you know? Like how when my cousin from France came to visit when I was 10, I beat the sh*t out of him every day. It wasn't because I disliked him, I just needed him to know I was better than him.
