Alecia graduated from the playroom to the stage by age five, performing in her first oratorio as Head Angel. Since that time she has sung in musicals, operas, operettas, professional choirs, chamber ensembles, and has performed as a soloist in a variety of venues.
Her training began at age 16. She went on to earn Bachelor and Master degrees in Vocal Performance, attending The University of Texas at Austin (UT) and New England Conservatory of Music, where she was the recipient of a merit-based music scholarship. She has studied with internationally-acclaimed soprano Darlene Wiley and teaching powerhouse Helen Hodam. Master class instructors have included: Rose Taylor; Pierre Vallet; Jess Walters, Benjamin Zander and Daniel Helfgot. Alecia has received many awards, including "Outstanding Soloist in Texas" and "Best Soloist" at the National Festival Competition in New Orleans. She was also featured in the University Interscholastic League Book of Champions.
Recently, in recital, Alecia presented the Boston and New England premiere of The Poetry of Donald Rumsfeld by composer Bryant Kong. Currently, she is working with composer Dan Shore on the commission of a new song cycle. Weekly, Alecia can be heard as a soprano soloist with the Sanctuary Choir at Old South Church in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the most critically influential churches in United States history.
