Those are Drummers and bands I've been influenced by... I love many other bands that are not included on the previous lists, like:
I live in Rosario, Argentina. Is the second most important city, after Buenos Aires. I am 26 years old.
As you may have noticed I am a drummer. And here is the reason why I decided to create this space: (sorry, my english is not that good, so please be patient, hehe!) I was thinking about creating a space where i can discuss about drumming (duh!) Ok, but, not only about drums, techniques, and drummers. I want to focus on our minds when we are studying and playing the drums. What do I mean? For me there are two ways to study: - A mecanic one: That's when we put the "AUTOPILOT", our limbs work because we are used to it (like walking). - A conscious one: Thats when we take enough time to think about important things before we move our limbs. ABOUT THE FIRST ONE. - For me is like when I play paradiddles or rolls (etc...) while I am watching TV. I can asure you there's no improvement by doing that, at least not for me. ABOUT THE SECOND ONE. We have different levels on this one. - The easiest one is just by paying attention to what we are doing and control every move and fisical detail. That's what most drummers call "to study" , that’s true. - Then we can move to a more complicated excersice or level (as i like to call) which is not just thinking about what we are doing but to include the enviroment, where we are, and how it affect us and our relationship with drums. -If we move on, it gets harder. We can start focusing on our feelings and how they affect our performance. What happens if we are sad, happy, ungry, neutral, etc... if we have bad feelings against someone else, or we envy someone (we know that is a very common thing in our musician world). And so... We can keep on gathering things or feelings that affects our relationship with the drums. The basic idea is to be aware of those fellings and situations in order to control them, use them to be better not against us. Thats the first step to improve our performance and study productivity to a 100%. So, i will give you some examples. This are things that happened to me and will help me to explain what i mean better: (To be continued....)
