    'La musica? Mi sedusse un po' alla volta, come una troia prudente. Cominciò con qualche mormorio fioco, poi divenne balbuzie e piano piano acquistò la franchezza di un linguaggio che, per quanto elementare, era comunque il mio. Ma la musica fu anche una necessità. In famiglia tutti si esprimevano in modo non truccato, in assoluta coerenza con le scelte di ciascuno: l'avvocatura, il management, la politica, l'insegnamento. Io non ero capace di esprimermi a quei livelli, con quel misto di vocazione genuina e, si dice oggi, di professionalità. E così scelsi la prestidigitazione. Scoprii che, se prendevo una chitarra, la suonavo meglio di tutti, e stupivo gli altri più che con un tema in classe. Ed ero esonerato dai loro cerimoniali, perchè a un musicista nessuno rimprovera di essere un tipo ruvido, chiuso in se stesso, o di mangiare con le mani. A un avvocato o a un insegnante, sì'... F.D.A.
