Well... I'm a bass player and, as Louis Armstrong said... "I like Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do music".
I try to be as open minded as possible, musically speaking... as long as it's something meaningful, at least! I started studying music on the violin, when I was ten, and even though I later switched to bass I treasured all the knowledge I got during my formal musical education. It has really been helpful! After some years of gigging with local bands I started working also in the studio. I started with Alex de Rosso debut CD and then with a couple of records by Helreidh (an Italian prog metal band). I worked many years with Daniele Luppi, recording soundtracks, commercial jingles and lounge tunes. I got into jazz during the Berklee Summer Seminars at Umbria Jazz, in 1999, here in Italy and the following year I attended the Summer Songwriting Seminar, at the Berklee College of Music, in Boston, MA (USA) My upright studies begun under the helpful guide of Franco Testa and I worked as an upright bassist on Alessandro Grazian's and Max "Alligator" Lazzarin debut CDs (they too are here on myspace, Alessandro is at this link and Max is at this other one) I didn't give up electric, though... in fact in these years I attended a series of advanced lessons with the great Patrick Djivas of PFM... Now I'm enrolled at the Conservatory of Music in Rovigo, for a degree in jazz and improvisation and, just for the record, my bass teacher is the great Stefano Senni! Other current bands I play with are The Smart Set, Oncle Archibald and Hypnoise.
