A Lesser Panda is Vancouver's Dave Sage, who started the project in 2006.
A new album, Nearest Neighbours, is out Sept 21st, 2009. It is co-produced with the wizardry of multi-instrumentalist Tom Dobrzanski (known for his work on such local bands as Hey Ocean! and Said the Whale). The new model takes the dependence on soft synths and loops out of the mix and replaces it with vintage gear, tape delays, acoustic instruments, and adds Dave's own vocals.

Actually we're thinking about doing some remixes and covers after we finish the album we're working on now. A few ideas we've had for covers/remixes are Your Mouth by Telefon Tel Aviv, Another Space Song By Failure and Deftones Anniversary of an Uninteresting Event.

I would love to hear your stuff live, do you have a full band? We are in the process of booking shows out west and we will be playing a show or two in Van, but they haven't been confirmed. We have Victoria and Kelowna booked though. It would be awesome to play a show with you.

It's funny 'cause the last time I was riding in a taxi at night from the SH airport into town "not standing in lineups" randomly played on my iPod, and it was the perfect soundtrack for that moment.
We are at the moment making the art design.The album is beeing printed in the begining of january and will be out in february/march in Norway.The album will also be released in the us.Im not shure of the date yet.

Thank you for the cmment Dave it's really appreciated as it's one of (if the only one) that gave real critique, instead "yeah I love it" or just no comment at all. I do like a bit of Sugar & Husker Du so maybe it untentionally slipped in. I agree with your words 100%, but it's really difficult as I only work with a analogue cassette 4 track and LOADS of overdubs & bouncing. People did help out a little on this one but again I do work pretty alone with it all. ANd the problem with the bouncing casued a bit of pitch change and the lead guitar riff suffered because of this, it was difficult to find correct tuning. All things we learn though. It's pretty much my first attempt at a fully sound, as I'm pretty much acoustic based. But hey we live and learn and your words mean a great deal cheers Dave.
