If love is built on trust and respect, then education and diversity are the foundations of a sublime reputation. What does it take, then, for an artist’s career to stand apart in the very big pond of electronic music producers? Germany’s XDB has been DJing since the early 90s, and his creative growth enhances his decisions of what labels and musicians he chooses to collaborate with. After years of working in a record shop, he launched his Metrolux label in 2006.
He also has a release on Sistrum, which is owned and operated by Detroit’s own Patrice Scott. Kosta intends his DJ sets to be full of organic warmth and depth, and it’s here that he lives up to his reputation as a historian of electronic music. His live sets repeatedly curate a greatest hits playlist that pores over the blueprints of dub, house and techno from the last thirty to forty years. He sees his music heading in a direction that ranges from deep and soulful Detroit house to raw, analogue sounding dub techno, which is executed brilliantly on his last Metrolux EP, Cagomi. XDB is currently looking forward to the release of the Lost Tape EP on Wave in late November 2009.
Throughout his growing popularity, XDB has kept his identity nearly silent, allowing his music to be unpolluted by preconceived notions that comes with branding one’s image. In the end, it was this tactic – of letting the music speak for itself – that cultivated the respect and trust of his fans. If that isn’t love, then what is?

Dopo la bellissima festa dell'anno scorso siamo pronti a celebrare nuovamente il compleanno di Mike insieme ai 40 anni di Ksoul. Mike Huckaby è uno dei massimi esponenti della scena house di Detroit, un purista del genere che conosce le radici e la cultura della musica dance contemporanea. Amante della disco, dell'house e di ogni reminiscenza jazzy, ha fondato etichette discografiche quali Deep Transportation e Synth ed ha lavorato a fianco di affermati produttori quali Rick Wade, Moodymann e Theo Parrish, Norm Talley oltre a remixare leggende come Model 500 e Deepchord e artisti dell'ondata nu-house come Loco Dice. Si conferma come uno dei creatori e divulgatori del panorama musicale di Detroit e presta grande interesse alle nuove realtà Deep Techno di questi anni, come dimostrano le sue più recenti collaborazioni con etichette quali Echospace e Cache o le sue svariate apparizioni in locali leggendari come Tresor, Dekmantel, Tape e Panoramabar.
Quest'anno, inoltre, ci raggiungerà UN ALTRO OSPITE A SORPRESA DI DETROIT. La serata partirà già all'APERITIVO, con un

Venerdì 20 Novembre nasce ufficialmente Secret Mood, dall'unione delle esperienze di Fotis Michalopoulos, professionista dell’entertainment management con all’attivo progetti in tutta Europa, e Matteo Brigatti (Gandalf), organizzatore, dj e conoscitore della realtà notturna torinese. I due si sono resi conto che, soprattutto per quanto concerne il target dai 25 ai 40 anni, c’è una preoccupante carenza di offerta di musica e situazioni di qualità, il che si traduce spesso in una disaffezione di questo pubblico dalla scena clubbing torinese.
L’obiettivo è quindi quello di organizzare eventi incentrati sulla “storia della musica house”, un contenitore musicale che contiene in esso tutte le influenze che hanno contribuito alla nascita di questo movimento: Disco, Funk, Chicago House, Detroit House, Deep House, Dub, Acid House…
Il primo evento Secret Mood avrà come protagonista un ospite d'eccezione, THEO PARRISH, pezzo di storia della house made in Detroit e Chicago, già apprezzato dal pubblico torinese in occasione dell'evento finale del Club to Club 2008.
Il locale scelto per questo primo appuntamento sarà il The Beach°, sul lato

Fulltilt original is a chugging, bass heavy track with a subtle musicality that develops throughout. Dr. Bergers remix is a stripped down deeper edit, with an infectious flow that maintains the essence of the original. Similarly to Dr. Berger, Alex Fiction strips back the layers to uncover an electronic soul which builds into an intelligently emotive interpretation, if slightly twisted. Completing the package is 'Nitemoves' which shares the big sound of Fulltilt, but with a more progressive, melodic vibe."
