Aleta L. Jacobson's Interests
|
| General | The arts and humanities. Creating art, writing, textiles, the beach, my cats, my family, analysing literature and film and finding their hidden meanings. | | Music | I first fell in love with music when I heard Elvis Presley. When I was a child, my baby sitter would watch American Bandstand and would teach me how to dance. I've gone through many phases: from the Beatles invasion (my friends and I were amateur Beatles impersonators and would put on shows durring recess in school...i was always john...) to the Beach Boys to Motown to folk to country to classical. I love just about any kind of music. | | Movies | Romantic Comedies (not air head meaningless crap), Sabrina. Action (like Indiana Jones...Harrison Ford is...*drool*), Star Wars, Spider Man, Pirates of the Carribean (Johnny Depp is...*drooooool*). Almost any movie with Jack Nicholson. Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. I don't like creepy, scary, keep you up at night, wet the bed, hands over your eyes horror movies...thank you very much. | | Television | Grey's Anatomy, Gilmore Girls, Boston Legal, Friends reruns, West Wing (when it was still on), Desperate Housewives. When I watch cable, I love watching HGTV, TLC, What Not to Wear, and Cooking shows. | | Books | This is very much like choosing a favorite color. I can't pick just a few of the many books that are loaded on my book cases. I love classics like Pride and Prejudice but also love reading Janet Evonovich. I like comedy, mystery, plays, poetry, my daughter's old writing from the fifth grade... | | Heroes | In no particular order: Nelson Mandella, Ghandi, Micheal J Fox, John Lennon, Martin Luther King, "The students at Kent State," the people that protest for peace, Emilio Estevez, Leonardo DiCaprio, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, the medical researchers and doctors that save lives, and firemen. |

Aleta L. Jacobson's Blurbs |
About me:
I am an artist/writer/life enthusiast. I am inspired by strong women and reflecting their boldness as well as inspiring other women to be strong through my work is key. I consider myself to be both socially and environmentally conscious and every decision I make is influenced by this awareness. Motherhood has been the most difficult, demanding, but also rewarding jobs I will ever have. Picasso went through color periods, I do not. I do not favor any particular color, like my childeren, I love them all. I would love to live on ten acres of farm near Cambria, California with a full brood of animals and a treasure chest of jewelry. One of my nicnames is "Coleslaw" because, no matter where I am, any place I can "get a salad" is my favorite restaurant.
