Its funny though that some of these rap people like the giant steps beat lol, Im gonna keep doing remixes of jazz songs, and Im gonna do my sax on the next one.......
yeah, yooo garageband is the truth, I made all my beats on garageband, it took me about 15-20 mins to make each beat, its good when you know therory, lol my other boy Nick, (who is a drummer) gets on us for being jazz heads, it takes him like a good 1-2 days per beat that he makes lol lol........but, yeah were coming back in may, im trying to hit up all the jazz clubs down there when I get back, and play a lot, but yeah you could make some beats on my laptop, if you want too, becaus me and joe are trying to get serious with this beatmaking thing, because were trying to earn some money to move off-campus nexy semester, so were basically gonna be making beats, and playing all summer.........
yeah basically, all I did was sing into my laptop, because are laptop has internal mics, and it recorded my voice, and then, garageband has a the auto tune effect, where I can either tune it to the key, or tune it chromatically, for Giant steps I had to tune it chromatically, because when I tried to tune it to a key, it was confused lol.......the only thing is it picks notes for you, but you just cant be like mono tone, you have to at least crack some kind of note, but its great, Theres so many vocal effects you can do like makeing your self sound like a robot, deeping your voice, sounding like a chipmunk, a whole bunch of stuff, I could even record my sax on my laptop, and give it a bunch of effects......
Yeah, if u like, me and Joe got some extra mini keyboards, that we really dont use no more, because Joe and me help some other guy out from the south make beats, because he can hear what he wants to do, but he doesnt know the harmony and theroy that good, because hes a drummer, and not a percussionist....... but yeah, Joe mostly records his beats on the big oxygen 8 keyboard thats the size of a regular piano, and sometimes I use it, but I mostly use the small one, it only has two octaves, so it tends to get nerve racking sometimes with chords and stuff....but yeah u should check out garage band, its is soooooooo easy to use, I can make a track in like 10 min, and it also has auto tune lol, cause I need that lol........
Thankx man, Im trying to get used to making beats lol, but I got A bunch of beatmakeing software on my laptop, they came with them for free, I used Garageband for the beats on my page, thats the easiest one, but I have reason, Logic, Finale, and Other programs, When we come back down in Jersey in May, I could get u a copy.....
