'Watershade' is an improvised duet between myself on flute and Nic Saunders on piano.
'Sull Lull' ('Lullaby of the Sun', loosely based on a Norwegian folk melody) and 'Purvi' (based on an Indian raga) are improvised soprano sax solos from a live performance by the Nic Saunders Group at the University of Chichester. 'Spellbound' was recorded live at the Croydon Jazz Festival in June 2009 as part of the Phil Singleton ensemble with myself on flute, Laura Jurd (flugelhorn), AJ (piano), Dave Markee (bass) and Neil Blandford (drums).
The first two videos below (the live performance of 'Spellbound' and a 12-bar blues) were recorded at the 2009 Croydon Jazz Festival; the third is a composite of various events at the LMFL 2007 summer school.

The next two videos were taken at the LMFL 2008 summer school jazz tutors concert - the first is a quintet performance featuring Harry Giles (tenor sax), David Frankel (piano), Steve Banks (guitar), Paul Cavacciuti (drums) and myself on electric bass, the second starts with a solo performance by Sara Coleman (piano and vocal) followed by the same quintet with Sara replacing Harry

Hi Alex, thank you for your comment. I think Tom, our drummer, intended to ask you along to the Bed Bar next Friday in Woking where we are playing to meet and have a chat. It would be nice if you can make it. Liking your material very much. Claire
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
Hey Alex. Loving the sound of the instrumentation in one of your bands- melodian!!! Some serious sounds coming from the music player on your profile as well- was great to hear from Phil that you're into your ECM... I don't seem to know many players that are really into it! Laura
Didnt think so - but its pretty cool tho. Found someone else here who's middle name was Forsyth - she's investigating where it's from and apparently there was a clan in Scotland who might have started it all off. We have our own tartan too :D
it's me again...I've got an Yanagisawa as well....a black beauty! Hmm...heavy-metal sound...and me who thought I could hide the heavy-metal guitarist thats lives deep in my soul... :D
Dear Alex, thank you for finding me and for introducing me to your version of a norwegian lullaby among others :) I guess you're playing a curved soprano? It sounds like that though :) NICE!! This was a very interesting meeting my friend. Keep it up!
