| General | I love to solve complex problems and challenge my brain. I think that's why I love programming so much. Every project I do needs some kind of solution that requires a test of my logic skills.
Lately I have been trying to redo some of my sites. www.alexanderhiggins.com is my personal site. Its sickly looking at the moment and I am quite embarrased of it right now. I was like one of the first sites I ever did and I have been updating it slowly.
I just install MySQL and PHP on my Windows 2003 server so I can run WordPress. Yep, I finally started my own blog at blog.alexanderhiggins.com. Lot of techie stuff on it right now. I didn't really plan it out before hand, but it's starting to come together.
I also have my online photo gallery at pic.alexanderhiggins.com
Of course there's the web site I did for my paintball team, teamcynergy.com. But I must admit my schedule hasn't permitted to play for a couple of months.
| | Movies | Ah, movies. I got to be an extra for an independent film that is shooting right now, Sneakers and Soul. I am also working on the website for that film. You can check out their blog at sneakersandsoul.blogspot.com for the latest updates. I have also talked to Bean about doing the soundtrack for the film, so be sure to check it out. | | Books | Let me just start out by saying books are way out dated. Don't get me wrong, I love to read. By I am the kind of person that needs to stay up to date with the
latest and technologies and the plain truth is books just take two long to write.
By the time an author in the technology field writes a book, sends it a publisher
and distributes it the entire technology is already considered obselete.
Ok, so maybe that is a little extreme but my point is with the internet there are
so many feeds, wikis and videos that books are less important in my life then the
used to be. And when I do need a book, I am usually at www.book24x7.com.
That site is awesome. It has books on just about anything you can think of,
all available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
So lets get to the books.
