Influences
We started in 1991 as a Jazz venue and have since adapted to meet the needs of our customers. Favourites include Buddy Rich, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, James Brown, Charles Wright.
We have now extended our musical tastes and accept most genres. Our motto is 'Good Music, Played Well'. Simple really!

Welcome to Alexander's space! We are a Music/Alternative Arts venue, playing host to an eclectic mix of styles including Blues, Funk, Classic Rock, Theatre, and Charity Events.
Situated in Chester City Centre in the beautiful surroundings of Rufus Court, Alexander's is open during the day as an alternative Cafe/Bar. Food is available and we have a massive beer garden (Abbey Green) which we share with 'Juice' our sister cafe.
Of an evening we transform to become one of Chester's leading music venues. We pride ourselves on bringing the best in Live Entertainment for people of all ages (18+) to your doorstep!

Comedy:
Every Saturday night, The format for Alexander's changes to become 'Britains longest running comedy club outside of London'. Every week you can come and enjoy three live acts that'll get your 'tabs tickling' and your 'rocks wobbling'. If thats not enough, you can enjoy Alexander's post-show Cheesy disco from when the comedy finishes at 11pm right through til the early hours.
