ENGLISH:Alexandre Decoupigny is an experimental musician and sonic artist. He finished his formal education shaking hands with Paul McCartney in Liverpool. Influenced by the straight quirkyness of this place he started his unique way between music and art: Musically socialized by BBC Radio Merseyside Legend Roger Hill, he jammed with the extroverted Pop Levi to honour John Coltrane's Death, lived in John Lennon's former shared flat, was inspired to experiment by Kling Klang's Pete Smyth, organised Audio-Visual Events, with which he once supported the Futureheads. He presented Sound Art with documenta artist Imogen Stidworthy and the legendary Owl Project, learnt to listen with the acoustic ecologist Phil Morton, about experimental music over a pint with Philip Jeck and about Computer Music having a Curry with Kim Cascone. After that he retreated from the capital of Pop Music to the capital of Classical Music, Weimar (Germany). He was a Guest at the very special SeaM (Studio for electro acoustic Music) under the direction of Canadian Composer and Sound Artist Robin Minard while he was also experimenting with Jazz Musicians, who had lived through the GDR times. This eventually lead to being expelled from the local Jazz Club in Erfurt. Already he was passing Berlin regularly on his journeys to Liverpool and Norway. Also did he exhibit his artwork or played music in Berlin, so that in summer 2008 he decided to stay there to once more face the world in all its glory.

DEUTSCH:Alexandre Decoupigny ist ein experimenteller Musiker und Klangkünstler. Seine formale Ausbildung beendete er mit einem Handschlag Paul McCartney's in Liverpool. Geprägt durch die pralle Schrägheit dieser Stadt, begann seine Laufbahn zwischen Kunst und Musk: Musikalisch sozialisiert von Liverpool's BBC Radio Merseyside Legende Roger Hill, jammte er mit dem extrovertierten Pop Musiker Pop Levi zu John Coltranes Todestag, lebte in John Lennons ehemaliger WG, wurde durch Pete Smyth von Kling Klang zum experimentieren gefordert, organisierte Audio-Visuelle Konzerte, mit denen er ua. die Futureheads supportete. Er präsentierte Sound Art zusammen mit documenta Künstlerin Imogen Stidworthy und dem sagenhaften Owl Project, lernte das zuhören mit dem akustischen Ökologen Phil Morton, die experimentelle Musik bei einem Bier mit Philip Jeck und über Computer Musik bei einem Curry mit Kim Cascone. Von der einstigen Haupstadt des Pop, Liverpool zog er sich anschließend zurück in die einstige Haupstadt der Klassik, Weimar. Er war Gast am SeaM (Studio für Elektro-Akustische Musik) unter der Leitung des kanadischen Komponisten und Klangkünstler Robin Minard und experimentierte mit lokalen Jazz Musikern, was wiederum zu einem Club-Verbot im Erfurter Presseklub führte. Schon während dieser Zeit kam er auf Reisen nach Liverpool und Norwegen durch Berlin. Eine Ausstellung und mehrere Konzerte führten ebenfalls dort hin, so daß er seit Sommer 2008 gleich dort blieb, um sich erneut der Welt zu stellen.
