.... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .......... .......... "Alex was born in Mannheim in 1986. Already 6 years later he got his first real drum kit and attended his first private drum lessons of his life. In 1997 he got into the Music School of Mannheim and played immediately in the classical orchestra "Mannheimer Bläserphilharmonie" and a Jazz Big Band while playing rock music in a high school-band. Already at this point of his life it became clear,that Alex will be a drummer playing all different kind of styles. Concerts and tours followed around Mannheim, but also to Switzerland, Norway, The Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic, Colombia and China. In 2002 he participated with the "Mannheimer Bläserphilharmonie" in the "World Music Contest" in Kerkrade (NL) and won the first price with honor. Also in 2006, the orchestra won a competition, the "International Festival for Brass-Music-Orchestras" in Prague (CZ), with 5 first prices. Also this orchestra had a 3 week tour through China in 2004,with a final concert in the "Forbidden City Concert Hall" in Beijing. Alex also played benefit concerts in Colombia for orphanages, as a percussionist with a gospel choir (Agua Viva) from Mannheim in 2002. From 2003-2005, he attended drum-lessons with Marco Klotz (independent) and Thomas "Lui" Ludwig (Jule Neigel, Uwe Ochsenknecht, Chaka Khan). From 2004-2005, he gave drum lessons himself at a private music school in Heidelberg. Since 2005, Alex studies jazz-drums at the "Royal Conservatory" in The Hague. There he receives drum lessons from Eric Ineke (independent) and Stefan Kruger (Zuco103). In the Hague, Alex is drummer and band leader of the hip hop group L4 and played on such festivals as "Koninginnenach","Parkpop", "Bruisend Park aan de Rotte"and many more.In March 2008, Alex had the great honor to perform with Saxophone legend Branford Marsalis (Miles Davis, Art Blakey, Sting).In the same year, Alex got to meet the legendary funk drummer Jamal Thomas (Maceo Parker), and started working as a drummer and musical director of the Jamal Thomas Band (XIII BSI Records). In summer 2009, a France and Caribbean Islands tour is planned with the Jamal Thomas Band.
