"Home is where House Music is... " - this mantra says everything about Alex Botar who was born in Transsylvania / Romania.
He got in touch with electronic music at the famous "Airport Club" in Wuerzburg / Germany back in 1990, where he was instantly captured by the uplifting Chicago-House Sound. Back home in Braunschweig, he started listening to Marusha's "Rave Satellite" radio-show and soon decided to start djing as well.
At the tender age of 17 Alex Botar got booked to spin for the infamous "Cyclone" Events in Braunschweig for the first time ever, where he quickly became a resident dj. Promoters from Hanover heard him play and got him over to spin for the "Dove of Peace" events at "Tor1/Hanomag" where he proved his skills playing out to more than 3.000 frantic dancers. Tor1 became his second residency, soon after that he started djing all over Germany.
His dj career was altered again when he met DJ Mack Beth at a rave-party in 1994; she was thrilled by his set and made him a resident dj at the widely renowned "Fade Out" events at the "Turbine-Club" and later at "Vereinsheim" in Berlin.
More gigs in Berlin were to follow soon after that, as well as international appearances like the "Future Shock" in Zagreb where he spun in front of 25.000 people. Not to forget various "Love Parade" events where he captured the attention of more than a million party people.
To compliment his musical ambitions, Alex Botar has also been writing as a freelance music editor for various music related magazines like FrontPage, Mushroom, Highlights, Hot Vision and Subway.
Alex Botar took a small break between 1998 and 2002 for his fulltime-job as an Art Director in fashion business. He used this time as well to come up with a new and unique house-music-live-concept called "Diva La Disco" which has been launched successfully in 2003. This amazing combination of live vocals and hot dj beats took the international dance industry by storm and Alex Botar became a highly requested DJ with gigs across the globe.
Around the same time he started producing as well as remixing - a passion soon to be transformed into a destiny. More than 20 releases and remixes later "Deepah Recording" releases an Alex Botar best-of album called "Remixology" which will hit the stores in early 2008. The album features Alex Botar’s wide range and understanding of house music. It kicks off with soulful and funky house, then moves on to more progressive sounds, always with a touch of tribal and some romantic old school flavours.
Remixology will be released as a mix-CD and digital download in Europe as well as in Russia and South East Asia.
