New Jersey-based artist Alex Brumel is a 23-year-old singer/songwriter quickly making a name for himself in historic clubs like CBGB (RIP) and The Stone Pony. A 2007 University of Michigan graduate, he has already shared stages with songwriters such as Dispatch's Pete Francis and Ingrid Michaelson, famed producer Don Dixon, and Grammy-Nominee Duncan Sheik (with whom he worked extensively on developing his Tony Award-winning "anti-musical," SPRING AWAKENING), and co-written material with Ari Hest. Deeply rooted in the folk, rock, and country music traditions, Alex writes music for fans of all styles of folk, rock, country, and pop music.
Alex plans to release the follow-up to his self-titled 2006 debut, entitled "To Bring You Home," on Glenwild Records in Fall 2008. The record, which Alex co-produced with drummer/percussionist Eric Novod, will feature 11 brand-new songs and 1 brand-new arrangement of an old favorite. Stay tuned to this page for more release info in the coming months!
Alex is also half of the acoustic folk duo The Mill Stone, his collaboration with singer/songwriter Janel Elizabeth. The Mill Stone's debut full-length album is due for a Fall 2008 release on Glenwild Records. For more information, please visit myspace.com/themillstonepage.

Thank you for taking a listen to my music. Glad you liked what you heard!
I hope you'll stop by www. davidshelbymusic. com to hear a sampling of all the tracks from my debut CD, I Came to Play. I look forward to hearing what you think.
hey alex thanks sooo much for the add!! My brother andrew graduated in your class, 2006, and was a good sax player--IDK if you remember him? Anyway I think he was in Mr. Dalton's jazz ensemble and band with you. I remember going to see you once in MHS's 'Carousel' and you were phenomenal! Keep up the good work and make MHS proud!! BTW I graduated in 2008 last June. I'd love to come and see you at one of your performances!

Hey Alex, First of all my apologies for my late response. You question "where do my listeners live" did stick in my head. To answer your question, most of my listeners will be in Europe. As I am not entirely sure myself, you started a thought process and I am working on something special. When you have the time, please visit the website www. BarkingMaddy. com and find out what your question had as a result. Cheerio, ALF
It's my birthday party and a car rally all rolled into one, with a cash prize that could go into the thousands! You have to register in advance, though, so go to CarRally. EricGinsberg. com to get more info and register your team!
I'm giving 50 points to the first 10 teams to sign up, so hurry!
Registration closes August 4th and once you've signed up, your team gets a profile so you can talk trash to other teams.
Aside from that, see you this weekend at the Wave Gathering? I play Friday night, solo, and Saturday with the band, 3:15pm, at The Saint!
Thanks for your friendship! Please send us any music or other entertainment that you would like to see featured on the RED BANANA, and keep checking back to our webzine for updates!!!
