Alex Dawn - it's all about the atmosphere

Since his early childhood at the age of 10, Alex Dawn experienced his firstcontact with electronic music. "I still know when I watched the mayday, a big rave here in germany on television. The mixing combination of two tracks, the development of something new, the euphoria at the people, I can..t stop thinking about it". Two turntables were bought immediately and first steps were made at schoolpartys. Since then a lot of things were happen. Meanwhile there were 10 years left, Alex Dawn comes of age and stands for a own mixture of techhouse and progressive without loosing the basic facts. "The most important thing is giving the people a wonderfull time and embark them to a journey". Without lose sight of his deep and melodic style, you can always discover new style elements. "Electronic music is so manifold, I love to combine Breaks, Electro, Tribalhouse, I don..t like these typical stereotyped thinking a lot of people still got. If you play a melodic track in germany everybody immediately says its trance - in my opinion this is false. A track I play has got to have a soul, something magical. In my opinion a dj have to live in music for doing a good job!". In 2006 he started producing too "I always dreamt of making my own track, express my feelings in a song which is built up from my emotions". His different radio performances, the residence at the "Gustav Club" and the always rising number of venues he played are indication that he is right with his attitude....



Schon im zarten Alter von 10 Jahren kam Alex Dawn zur elektronischen Musik. „Ich weiss noch wie ich damals total gespannt die Mayday im Fernseher mitverfolgt habe. Das Verknüpfen einzelner Tracks, die Entstehung von etwas neuem, die Euphorie bei den Leuten, das alles ließ mich nicht mehr los“. Schon bald mussten zwei Plattenspieler her und erste Schritte auf Schulpartys wurden unternommen. Seitdem ist viel passiert. Mittlerweile sind 10 Jahre vergangen, Alex Dawn ist den Kinderschuhen entwachsen und steht für eine ganz eigene Mischung aus Techhouse und Progressive, ohne dabei das wesentliche aus den Augen zu verlieren. „Es geht doch in erster Linie darum den Leuten eine schöne Zeit zu geben und sie auf eine Reise durch die Welt der elektronischen Musik zu schicken“. Ohne seinen deepen und doch melodiösen Stil aus den Augen zu verlieren entdeckt man bei seinen Sets aber auch immer wieder neue Stilelemente „Elektronische Musik ist so vielfältig, ich liebe es verschiedene Einflüsse seien es Breaks, Electro oder auch Tribalhouse mit einfließen zu lassen, ich halte nichts von diesem typischen Schubladendenken das leider immer noch in vielen Köpfen herrscht. Wenn man in Deutschland Tracks spielt die Atmosphäre und Melodie besitzen wird man sofort in die Trance Schublade gesteckt. Ich finde es traurig das dieses denken immer noch vorhanden ist“. Seine Auftritte bei Radioshows und die immer größer werdende Anzahl an Clubgigs geben ihm Recht. Wir sind uns sicher in Zukunft noch viel von ihm zu hören....
