   About Dj Alex Nemec


::: BIO :::

Born and bred in Nova Gorica, Alex had a crush with house music in his teen while attending the first house parties in his hometown. A few months later 2 dex & mixer became his »best friends« & his dj skills has been forged on endless days behind the dex and perfecting his unique mixture of sound: from funky, techy, acid, proggy to electro & minimal.

After his first apperance @ Cream Club (Nova Gorica, Slovenia) in 1998 he got a residency there & played with home & foreign djs. His Dj skills and his many apperancies in almost all slovenian clubs (Ambasada Gavioli, Cream, Marcus, Heaven, Sub Sub, Lipa, Impulz, The Club, Joy, Simfonija, Kaos, etc) beside guest gigs in Croatia (Fort Burgignon, Colosseum, House Angels, ...) and Italy (Kursaal, La Baita, Suburbia, ...).

A major step in his career was joining forces with Dj Filip in 2005. After about a year Alex and Filip got their first few tracks which were well supported by some of the world's finest djs: Futureshock, Hernan Cattaneo, Mashtronic, Stu Hirst, Openair, Deepgroove, Chris Lake, James Talk and many more.

Their first official release: Alex & Filip - Lights out ep - Restart digital hitted the Balance record pool chart and reached the 16th place after 2 weeks. The second instalment from the duo was the melodic proggy tinged track Liquid fantasy which entered directly @ No.2 in the Release records promo chart. A pretty decent start, don't u think :) ?

With more and more remix offers in the past 3 years, the duo released only a few origianl tracks: „Under“, „Take me over“, „Vendetta“, „One day“, „Insider“ on labels like Fizzeek,1980, F-recordings & System. All of them have been big with djs like Trent Cantrelle, Albert Cabrera, Miss Nine, Hernan Cattaneo, Jay Cox, Mashtronic...

Not many artists have made such a long list of remixes in the past few years! The artist list includes top names like Mark Trophy, Federico Epis, Mohawk, Openair, Warren Clarke, Anything But Monday, Jay Cox, Tim Andresen, Autophase, Tom Collingburn, Velvet Jones, Kei Mohebi, Dj Dome & Elvis Suarez, Chris Fraser for some of the world's leading independant labels: Big Love, Suesse, System, Fizzeek, Metrogroove, BEBR and also for the major one – Universal.

The duo is now locked up in the studio working on new original tracks and a few remixes which are all due to be released in the forthcomong months!

Starting their Mirabilis records in 2009, the label is only at its begining and with quality releases from Alex & Filip them selves beside top artists like Autophase, Steve Haines, Lea-d, Jay Cox, No Brainer, Tom Budden, Liz Cirelli, Chloe Harris, Ran Shani, Inkfish to name only a few, the label is getting stronger support with every release. Top names playing the Mirabilis releases include Fergie, King Unique, Hernan Cattaneo, Omid, Demi, Nick Warren, Jody Wistenoff, Dave Lambert, Jim Rivers, Roger Sanchez, Belocca, Ozgur Can and lots more! Gig wise in the past years they have rocked floors all over Slovenia (Lipa, Simfonija, Kaos, Sub Sub, Fun Factory, Heaven, Ambasada Gavioli, Cream, Pulse festival, Castle party, Marcus Club, Patriot, The Club, K4, Trnfest …) and gigs in Italy (Suburbia, Kursaal…), Croatia (Colosseum, Fort Burgignon, House Angels…). Bosnia & Bulgaria. They shared the dex with some of the world's finest spinners like Umek, Valentino Kanzyani, Adam Beyer, Scarlett Etienne, Paul Woolford, The Beginerz, Steve Porter, Cristian Varella, Technasia to name a few.

The live & studio mixes done by the duo have been broadcasted on some of the most renewed radio stations: MINISTRY OF SOUND radio, Proton, Frisky, Electronic Groove Podcast, Radio Salamon, Kiss Fm Romania, DLA, House FM, Dance Fm, Epiloges, Danceradio.gr, and were positevely acclaimed by the audience becouse of the always classy choice of the trax & the perfect way all is mixed & mashed up.
