BIOGRAPHY
Alexei was born on March 18th, 1980. Alexei's named after his maternal grandfather. His father left the family when he was only 4 years old. Alexei was born a sickly child and wore glasses at an early age. The doctor advised his mother, Zoya, to put him in some kind of sport because his right hip was deformed. His mom choice skating and he competed in small competitions when he was a child. With Alexei Mishin as his 2nd coach starting at the age of 13, Alexei began landing triple axels. He started landing quads at the age of 15.
