In october 1995 the dentist Alex Face gets suspended from his job at the public hospital in East St. Louis, IL. Despite several warnings he stubbornly continued to perform complicated surgery wearing a bird-mask and cape. That, and his eager deployment of smokemachines and stroboscopic lighteffects were too much for both colleagues, hospital board as well as patients.
In october 2000 the band Alex Face is formed by David Kihlberg and Sebastian Burgmann in a shoeshop in Gothenburg, Sweden. During a performance at Dômen Art School drummer Björn Westerlund joins the band. The spring of 2001 they record their first demo including songs like Out in the rain and an early version of Dirty Love. Visiting the bar Kellys in April 2002, David finds his long lost brother, Fredrik Kihlberg. He..s been playing bass with the band since. They are, however, no longer brothers. Of the many gigs the band has had, we especially remember the one at Café Nea in October 2003. After that evening, the café never opened again. Just before this, the bands second demo, the white one, had received a very favorable review in music magazine Groove. The recording after that one, the third that is, was also very popular. You should have bought one.
The 20th of August 2004 a split single with now sadly defunct punkrock act Accione Mutante was released by Stab Your Back Records. You should have gotten one.
And before you know it, it's 2007, and Alex Face debut album is out on Alleycat Records this march. You sure will buy one. Yes you will.
To promote the album and just to generally raise some hell, Alex Face went on their first ever European tour. It lasted for a month. You can see a couple of pictures on this site.
