    Hi Guys, thank you so much for swinging by. I am Alexia Gardner! Live and Direct from a beautiful part of Switzerland - Basel Land. I have been living here for the past 4 years. Below you can read my info on my latest CD recording. My third album to date. But thats not all..........my fourth album is a sophisticated guitar and bass and vocal work. Recorded LIVE at the Birds Eye Jazz Club and is currently being edited and mixed in Hongkong by Skip Moy! (I just stayed with the best) More details to come later! So read on and if you are looking for a fabulous singer, entertainer, DIVA drop me a line! My 2009 CD - Chasing Hope - was recorded over two warm sunny days in the Black River Studios of Switzerland's St Gallen region. This is a gentle departure from my first two albums. These were recorded in front of live audiences whilst touring Asia. With this new album I have had the luxury of selecting my musicians and musical standards - old and new - and presenting them in a studio setting. Chasing Hope moves from straight ahead jazz to smooth pop ballads, from Cole Porter's Love For Sale to Seal's Love's Divine, from Rodgers and Hart's timeless, Blue Moon; performed in a Latin style, to the smooth rendition of Hoagy Carmichael's The Nearness Of You. There is also a touch of gospel and a sprinkling of the blues in Chasing Hope too. Chasing Hope is the title track and one of the four original tunes featured on the recording. I wrote this tune, all about a spunky 8-year old girl called Hope. New Yorker and gifted pianist, Oliver Von Essen, brought the tune to life when they both sat down at the piano whilst living and touring in Shanghai, China! At the London Jazz Festival on November 18 2009, I was accompanied by London-based,songwriter and pianist, Alex Webb. He wrote Forbidden Fruit, the swinging, funky opening track of the album, and has been writing fabulous tunes for me ever since they met on Myspace a couple of years ago! I am joined by the Off Beat trio on this recording, musicians I have been performing with throughout Switzerland (and Neighboring countries) since my move to this country with my husband in Late 2006. They are Marcel Schefer on piano, Kalli Gerhards on bass and beat-Fraefel Haering on drums. Special guests featured on the album are Pius Baumgartner on tenor saxophones, Paula Gardner and Hope on backing vocals. Alexia Hope is the same in Chasing Hope in the title track!     It's Sunday evening and I am still basking in the glow of the London Jazz Festival 09! I got the chance to sing in the PURCELL ROOM in London's South Bank Centre! I walked past the House of Parliment, Big Ben, Westminister Abbey late at night. These famous buildings were all lit up!! Just like the beaming smile on my face! It was MAGICAL! I performed with Alex Webb (piano) Gary Crosby (bass) and Andy Chapman (drums)!! Thank you fellas! We rocked! I love you guys. I simply won't be able to sleep till Christmas!
