“Alexia Melnychuk’s Flying Machine deserves to be pushed and promoted and distributed..." "...a delightfully refreshing debut..."
“Alexia Melnychuk has something very much in common with some of Canada’s most influential and inspiring singer songwriters but what tends to set her apart... (are) her beautifully mastered vocals and expertly crafted lyrics."
Colin Lynch of RCatCommunications - 5 star review of Flying Machine
Alexia Melnychuk's solo career began in November 2005 with the release of her debut recording, Flying Machine. The collection of 5 original songs melds various country and folk strains, with confident, emotive vocals and simple homespun arrangements.
In 2006, she earned Honourable Mentions from both the 2006 Song writing Competition (Calgary Folk Music Festival/Ship & Anchor Pub) for her song Blue, & The West Coast Songwriters Association for her song, Diamonds.
In March 2007, Alexia hit the road with Singer Songwriter Lara Yule Singh for a month long tour of Western Canada and in August 2007 they spent 6 weeks touring in Eastern Canada.
Alexia is currently preparing to Release & Tour her
debut full length recording HEY LITTLE LOVE in 2008!!!! Stay Tuned!!!!

Hugs and kisses. Enjoyed listening to your album the other night...what a lovely voice and a sweet person. I love your cute pictures rotating on myspace...did I say that already??
Just saying check out the Blue Chair schedule and see when the Good Lovelies are coming. They are fantastic - and friends of mine. I told them about you, too. You should really connect with them if you can...
Hello my lovely friend! It seems like forever since I've talked to you. :(
I have a new haunt now so maybe one day you can drop by. I'm writing at the new Starbucks at 17th St and 39th Ave.
I keep thinking about River of Ghosts and wonder if it's been recorded yet. I am selfish, I know, but I soooo want to hear it with all the bells and whistles.
I still can't believe you wrote me a song for my novel The River. And it's perfect!! I love it!
Thanks for the add! Beth Fehlbaum, author Courage in Patience, a story of hope for those who have endured abuse http://courageinpatience. blogspot. com Chapter One is online!
Thanks again so much for coming down! I am looking forward to hearing your new material...I'm not sure when we'll be back in Edmonchuck but make sure to let me know when you are in Van and I will be there! Lots o love and take care! It was so good to finally see you and everyone else! Talk soon! -D
I think about you all the time! Every time I go to pick up the phone, it's too early. I am always singing your songs. I will call you soon and let's catch up. Talk to you very soon! KJ
Hi Alexia! Thank you for adding us to your friendlist. You got some great songs, and we are looking forward to hear some more from you. Cheers! Lonerock - Scandinavian Country That Rocks!! Official Website
Thanks for adding Rambles. NET to your friends' list!
Hey, if you would like your music to be considered for a feature on our site, be sure to send a couple of review CDs our way. (You can find the mailing address on our page.) We love to share new music with our readers!
Hey Alexia! Sorry I missed your call - my cell is malfunctioning at the moment! I'm excited about our upcoming shows. Let's chat soon about what we need to do to promote them! KJ
heyyyy, word on the street is you'll be at the women in music concert on feb 2. i'll be there in full force with the rest of the heart of the city festival crew. looking forward to hearing you live!
Hi Alexia! I met you and picked up one of your cds at Cheryl's book launch. I usually listen to it in the car (so I never have it in the house), but when I looked for you here on MySpace your song played on your page and my son(he's 13 months old) started dancing to it!! It was SO cute! Guess I'll have to play it inside now so he can boogie!
hey, i finally picked up your ep after having listened to flying machine and home on your myspace all christmas lol. one of my jobs is at !ndigo in south common and after my shift i picked up your cd and brenda said you used to be the gm there!?? that's awesome! i love working there and brenda mentioned that you were an awesome gm. too bad i missed you but i'd pick the music any day :). can't wait for the new album.
hope your christmas was great and relaxing and full of family and that you didn't have to battle any other flu bugs etc etc. still hope you come play a show for us :)
heyyyy, i work with kris hodgson out in leduc here and he introduced me to your music. just wanted to say that the two songs you have up here are gorgeous. i hope you're feeling better. i brought some friends to !ndigo last weekend hoping to catch you but heard you were sick!! :( oh well, hope to catch you next time you play, where ever that may be.
Eh Alexia! I hope all is well. My latest CD is for sale through Attic Records at shopatticrecords.com/ spread the word. there is a link on my page as well. Thanks for your support, as an unsigned artist funding all your own endeavours it's hard I am sure you know what I am talkin about. Take Care out there! I am still loving your sound!
By looking at Lara's comment it sounds like y'all have some good road stories.
I don't know if you've been listening in but Episode 54 of IndieCan Radio features a Calgary band, ONCE JUST and while I was in an Oh Alberta (Elliot Brood reference) mood, I added one of your songs. Hope you like it, I know I did. There's another artist, Kyrie Kristmanson you should get to know too. Oh, I think the rest of the show is smokin' hot too, BTW :-)
So check it out. Not two minutes from your house last night I learned that the stereo in the van can be adjusted to only play in the front speakers. Hilarious.
thanks alexia. yeah, i love singing with julie. she has a myspace site, but it doesn't do her justice, in my opinion. we used to play "sweet lorraine", is that a patti griffin tune? Maybe patti larkin. have a good tour.
So glad to know you. Keep us "reminded" about your shows out here. We'll try to come out and visit. Maybe do something cool together... maybe go bowling.
